LO4:Draft of film trailer
This is the first draft of the film trailer and we will not use these shots as they are not that good.
The acting in the draft isn't great so we need to film the scenes again. The draft Is really bad so we need to get new clips. The scenes at the start are to dark so for the next time we record we will use lighting or pick a day which we can include natural lighting.
This is a re draft for the draft 1 however I think we messed up with the naming of the draft so this is Draft 2.
The positives of this draft is that the start goes well and the middle goes well too. However some of the clips are not correct and we need to delete them. The transitions haven't been done just yet and the ending is pointless because we had a clip there
Draft 3
This draft isn't that good however it does have the start in it.
The positives of this draft is the start of the trailer as it is an accurate viewing of the proper one. Another positive is that it has a lot of clips that will be used or need enhancing for the next draft.
The improvement will be to re film some of these clips and remove some of the clips as you can see my reflection in the tram as it goes past. Another one will be to remove the one when he walks past the tram lines. one of the improvements will be to add colour to some of the clips
This is draft 4
This draft is a nearly completed version of the trailer.
The positives of this trailer is that the trailer runs very smoothly and it is nearly completed. The best thing about this trailer is the colour effect on the face and all the way through it has been put on.
The improvements for this draft is to change the start of the trailer so it starts with warp logo and the ending need to be quicker. The audio needs changing so it is louder
LO4:Edit decision list
This is the edit decision list and will show which footage has been edited for the film trailer. The edit decision list shows what we have done for the editing.
LO4: Evidence of editing and Filming
This is evidence of us editing our video for the trailer
Tools
This is us editing the logo for our trailer. So then we had a good introduction to our film trailer. This animation took along time to do and must of taken 3 days to do as we had to get the movement right. The animation took along time however we did it by stage by stage so then it would be positioned correctly.
This shows us lining up the logo with the main pattern so then it is all in the correct position. The red in the logo goes with the black and contrast well with each other. This was all made on Photoshop so then we could change the logo if something didn't work.
Recording the last bit of audio for counting cards so then we have a voice over for the trailer. This is when kyle is taking about his life and is troubles and what situation he is in.
This is all the editing what we did for the film trailer it includes us changing the colour balance. Overlapping the footage over other pieces. Cut and re organise. It includes importing the footage and removing parts of footage. We also included transitions through out so then the footage will run smoothly.
Tools
- Cut
- Speed up
- Fade to black
- cross cutting
This is us creating the storyboards for the film trailer so when we do get out to film we know what we want and what the shot will look like. The story boards helped us decide what location we would like the fim trailer to be film in.
We took risk when filming the footage as I had to climb a roof to get a certain position for the film trailer. This ledge wasn't that high however it was pretty hard to get to as the ledge was thin on top but safe to walk on.
This is evidence of us when we imported the footage so we can start editing for the film trailer. We imported the footage using google drive. This only took a short time as we didn't have much footage at that time.
This is us deciding where we will place the footage. So then the film trailer will have a good flow to it. The footage was place in and cut down. Some of the footage was bad however we had the chance to film the footage again however we can use different actors this time so it will be better content.
This is evidence that we filmed. This shot is off when they are in the casino gambling against each other and when Kyle loses all his money to the one game of poker.

LO3- Producing Audio
This is all the music and the voice over together. This is what it sound without the scenes played over it.
We decided to make our own music for the trailer by creating it on garage band. The reason for this is that we found a soundtrack to go over it but it didn't go as well as we planned it to do. The Music was made by all the group. We had all the clips for the trailer however we didn't know where to put them because we had no music. So once we had music we match all the music with the trailer.
This is the start of the trailer as we thought it would be a good sound to introduce the scenes.
This is images of us editing the music and at this moment we are just placing the tunes into garage band and making them in order.
In this clip we are actually putting the music together so it sounds pretty good once we did that we changed the position of the music so it will go with the trailer. We did this by getting up a draft and playing music over it.
Lo3: rushes
We will use these shots at the start of the trailer. Some of the shots used will be colour changed so it makes a better atmosphere for the trailer. The shots taken are all ones when Kyle is in the morning. The reason we did this is because we wanted to introduce the character to the trailer.
All these shots was taken on the same day and we decided to make these as we thought a close up will be a good ending or beginning and the pan of the city will be useful for the video. We picked a cloudy day to do this as we thought it would look more gritty and have a better look for the trailer. With the colour change it made the video look better.
These are load of random shots we took making the trailer some of these shots we will not use but some we will as I thin that it was good angle and a good brightness. These shots will be used but in different parts of the trailer. The poker scene will e near the end.

Lo2-Rocking chair email
Hello, I am a student currently studying at UTC Sheffield and we would like to enquire about the use of your building for a day to use as a location for a short film.
This is a non-profit project, so we wouldn’t be using this location to earn money.
We would only need to film for a few hours and can do it earlier on in the day, so that we wouldn’t interrupt your business.
We would be filming between the 8th and the 13th of February, so could use the building on any of these days.
Thanks, Lewis Wright

You could suggest what type of lighting you would use and find a location like a basement for the casino shot
We will decide what location we will use and state what type of lighting we will use

Lo2-Email for the casino
Dear Tony
I am emailing in order to make a request to record footage
at your casino for a college piece. My team and I have discussed this location
and decided it was suitable for the genre and narrative, however we do of
course need your permission to use the area. In the footage there shall be no
sight of the company’s logo or name.
Our team are all 16 years of age (as of sending this E-mail)
but the actors we shall be using will all be over the age of 18 and we shall be
under supervision from Arno van der Kraan.
At this moment in time we cannot give you exact times as to
when the Casino shall be required, but it shall be between the 8th
and 12th of February and shall of course be during closing times as
to not affect the business
We are mature teenagers, and we shall be using a variety of
expensive equipment so we hope that you shall be able to trust us in using this
location respectively.
Yours sincerely,
Jai Van der Kraan

Second email for actors
To whomever it may concern,
My name is Jai and I'm emailing you from the UTC Sheffield to ask your support in our college production. We are making a non-profit film trailer and are looking for three male actors to help us.
The first two of these actors would preferably be in their mid 20's to early 30's. These actors are need to portray the characters Kyle and James Fisher. Ethnicity or race is of no concern to us providing that the two actors are the same as the characters are brothers. Ideally, one of these would be a relatively stocky build and the other an average build.
The third character is our antagonist, preferably this actor would be 30+. Again ethnicity/race is of no concern to us but this actor should also be of a fairly stocky build.
We shall be shooting between the 8th and 13th February, mostly in the evening however we are currently awaiting a reply from one location which shall be recorded early in the morning.
Thank you for anyway in which you can support us in our college production
Yours,
Jai Van der Kraan
